I moved into a new apartment at the beginning of this month and I have been pretty determined to make it my sanctuary. People who know me know me to be quite social, a party animal even in some eyes but truth be told, I’m a homebody. I love to cook and keep a clean home and vegetate in front of a good tv show or movie so having a home that I love is important for keeping my stress levels down. This means surrounding my home with ((material)) items that I love looking at.

One of these actually belong in the Feb 16 list, and one of those belong in this list. See if you can figure out which… (if you don’t care, don’t bother ;) hehe):
1) Great sex, or memories of the same.
2) Great showers, and having or making time for them.
3) Being able to celebrate the birthday of someone you care about (I’m looking at you Levstein).
What are you grateful for?
I should have tried to write this earlier today, when I was in a better mood but this day has left me exhausted, emotional and bitter. But here we go:
1) Being pleasantly surprised by meeting people for the first time who are still fun even when you’re beating them at poker
2) A good Rye
3) A relaxing, vent-lunch with Joanna Haughton & Emily. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
What are you grateful for?

I don’t need to tell you that yesterday was a hard day; not that it was a torturous day by any means but I was feeling a little fragile. I managed to have a pretty good day, and I hope you did too.
1) Having a male best friend who I can hang out with on a day like Valentine’s day and have a pseudo date without worry.
2) Having the knack to get any meal right the first time I attempt to make it.
3) Flowers (and not having qualms about buying them for myself).

Oh Valentine’s Day. The last of the holidays that could make you feel like absolute crap if you let it. There is no wonder that March 1st 2009 was like my own personal New Year.
Love;…
I must have had this editor open for 2 hours (of course I did lots of other things while I dealt with the block) before I could actually write any of this down. It’s not that I didn’t have anything to grateful for yesterday. It’s just that… today is extra hard. But mind over matter will prevail and I will kick ass, so without further adieu:
1) Having friends who have different desires and walks of life so that I can still experience things like baby showers and talks of marriages and what not; because this way I’m not ignorant in my choices. I am constantly able to say, nope… I don’t want that :)
2) Having the ability to love immensely and be happy for other people who don’t want the same things out of life that I do.
3) Mummy’s cooking
What are you grateful for?
I’m not hungover, because I drove out to a Fantastic Fabulous Femmes Valentine’s Day Party hosted by the one and only Victoria Murdoch last night because I didn’t want to be hungover for the baby shower I had to go to this afternoon but for some reason (not telling) I couldn’t sleep last night… so I unpacked until 5am.
1) The ability to be productive when I can’t sleep
2) Getting my apartment up to 65% unpacked (woo hoo passed 50%!)
3) My parents who are two of the most generous, hard working, caring people I have met in my life (considering how many people I have met - this is a huge statement to make).
BONUS smile: Girlfriends, girlfriends, girlfriends.
